DESCRIPTION:With Northeastern expanding its reach around the world\, an increasing number of students from Hawai’i are enrolling at the university. The growing population of Hawai’i students in the Boston area can benefit from connecting to each other through our shared background. Thus\, the Hawai’i Ohana at Northeastern University (HONU) was formed to bring together people who the share the Aloha spirit. Not restricted to those originating from Hawaii\, HONU accepts people of all different backgrounds who have an interest in Hawaii’s culture. Our organization is here to be a hanai ‘ohana (adoptive family) to students at Northeastern who want to keep connected with home. We also want to share our state’s unique traditions through fun activities and events. On a broader scale\, we hope to connect with other students in the area to build the Boston/Hawaii network.

DESCRIPTION:The India Society of Worcester\, affectionately known as the ISW\, is one of New England’s most vibrant Indian associations. It is primarily a cultural\, social\, educational and charitable organization. The ISW’s purpose is to encourage people with ancestral origin in India or people who are otherwise interested in India\, to form an effective and cohesive group with the objective of retaining\, facilitating\, and fostering the cultural heritage of India; including ethnic arts\, languages and religions of its people. The society adds to the richness of the cultural diversity of the region and is a window into the cultural heritage of India for the local community. The ISW is non-political and non-sectarian. It does not subscribe to any one religion and does not discriminate against any person because of his or her religious beliefs or ethnic background.

DESCRIPTION:Iskwelahang Pilipino (IP) is a non-profit Filipino cultural school that brings together families from the Greater Boston area who share a connection to the Philippines. IP was founded over 40 years ago (1976) by a group of parents and educators. We offer families a welcoming community that embraces Filipino culture and provides Filipino American children with the opportunity to learn about their Filipino heritage in a nurturing environment. Our vibrant\, actively engaged community is made up of parents\, students\, alumni\, friends and supporters of IP from immigrant families\, second and third generation Filipino American families\, adoptive and multiracial families.
